12. How does Calendars for the Web handle time zones?

    Answer: All events are stored relative to the time zone of the web server running the software. For example, for installations running on a web server in New York City (such as our hosting servers) events are stored relative to eastern standard time. Currently there is no way to show the same 12:00pm event in New York as a 9:00am event in Los Angeles.

    In practice this has very little effect on the way the software operates. As long as everyone viewing the calendar understands the time zone of the events everything works fine. Its no more complicated than scheduling events over the phone.

    There is a feature that allows you to adjust the apparent time zone on your server but this is a technical issue that is more easily explained if you contact us for more information.
